We had the system installed right after we got our puppy in January. the installer (sorry I forget his name). was quick with the install. He walked me through how he would lay the wire. then trained us on the system. We trained Luna on the system without the static correction until she was 5 months. She caught on very quick. Once the correction was turned on. it's was less than a week and she knew the exact boundary. this system does work and is priced resonable. I talked to at least 3 people in the company and everyone was friendly and professional.

We just had our invisible fence completed today and we are excited to finally have a peace of mind. Gary answered all of my questions when I contacted him prior to today. We recently had the fence installed on our property. The installers were knowledgeable and got the job done quick! It has given us a total peace of mind knowing that our dogs are safe in the yard and folks that run, bike, and walk on the community trail in front of our house are safe, too. Our pups were having too much fun visiting our neighbor’s 4 dogs and joining families on their daily walks. It does take time and both dogs have responded a little differently. Our Rosie runs like the wind in the front yard now and understood the boundaries very quickly. Our Pearl is a little more hesitant and taking her time. We are very glad we made the decision to move forward with Dog Guard.

Dog Guard has worked well for my dogs. They were prompt and came out and installed the fence and trained my puppy. Then when I got 2nd puppy, they came out and re flagged the yard and introduced to my new puppy. They are always available and quick to get back to you if you have a problem. We had Dog Guard installed and our dogs learned very quick not to go to close to the fence area. They automatically stay in a certain area all the time now. It has been a true delight taking them outside. The Dog Guard was installed in good time, the installer answered all of my questions and reassured me this was what we needed to keep our dogs safe from running away or going near the road. Dog Guard is amazing if you ask me. It works and it works great. I would recommend Dog Guard to anyone that has a dog. My son has a large Great Dane that jumps the fence all the time. Mike was our installer. Both professional and personable. He installed our system in less than two hours on 3/4 of an acre. Also gave me piece of mind concerning the system. I was worried since the road which fronts our yard has a 55 mph speed limit. He also trained my wife and I in the nuances of fence concerning our dog. I would highly recommended Dog Guard. Hello everyone. My wife and I live on a one acre lot next to the woods. Deer everywhere! We took custody of a 7 month old golden retriever puppy on a Monday evening. I texted Gary of Dog Guard of Pittsburgh on Tuesday morning. He got back to me that evening to explain his product and to tell me that due to a cancellation, they could be there the next morning at 11am. The team was right on time and installed an acre of wire in an hour. They spent the rest of the time there giving a training session to me and my puppy. They couldn’t have been more professional or polite! They did not leave until I was 100% sure that I understood the program. Our dog came off of the leash Thursday evening and hasn’t been on it since. It’s been 3 weeks. We could not be happier with this product! Companies representative arrived on time, explained what will be done, he verified my dog's size to match him up with the correct collar and got to work, once he setup the in ground wired fence he explained how it worked and what to do if any issues. I am so incredibly thankful that I called Dog Guard! Chuck came out and installed our fence and he was awesome! He answered all of our questions and trained our dogs perfectly. Dog Guard is amazing! We have Max who is a 2 1/2-year-old Labrador and has always been on a leash because he is a runner. We had contacted Gary in March and my kids didn’t feel comfortable that Dog Guard would work with Max and was going to put up a traditional fence. Well, guess what they never did this October Max slipped his collar and ran thankfully he is chipped and was returned. I called Gary and he was prepared to come out the next day, and talk about customer service! We scheduled and they came and trained Max today is the 3rd day and Max is off leash and running around the yard. I was worried when a neighbor walked in front of the house, he didn’t even attempt to cross the line. Amazing it’s so nice to sit outside with Max and not have to worry if he will get tangled in the trees or slip his collar. My advice is to get Dog Guard it’s peace of mind and so nice to see him run.

We just had our fence installed yesterday. I would highly recommend this company based on customer service alone! I requested a quote online the middle of last week and received a call from Gary the very next day. The installation was yesterday, less than a week from the time I requested the quote! I was very skeptical about using the electrical fence with my 8 month old Husky. Gary assured me this WILL work. Spoke with him on Tuesday afternoon and the installers where here Wednesday morning! Install went more than smoothly, they worked with me and my dog on how to train him etc. After 2 days, my dog will not go within 1 foot of the flags. I had him tethered while working in the yard, a woman and her son were walking on the sidewalk, he actually broke the tether to go see them, BUT stopped dead a foot away from the flags! I had an issue with where the one part of the fence was in the yard, called Gary on Monday and he scheduled his installers to come and move that part of the line on Wednesday with no questions asked. Very impressed with the service, very honest and professional. Would HIGHLY recommend Dog Guard of Greater Pittsburgh!

Our dogs weren’t actually at our new house when the fence was installed, but he explained how to train them, and they took to it so quickly. We have a beagle and a Pitbull mix, and given that we have rabbits, deer, cats, and squirrels regularly wandering through our backyard, I was honestly skeptical. I spoke to Gary about installing an electric dog fence around my property to help keep my dog safe. Gary was easy to talk to, polite, professional and eased all that concerns. He was able to get me on the schedule quickly and and no time at all my electric dog fence was installed for my two dogs that had been chasing deer and getting out of the yard previously. We have had Dog Guard for a few months. My goal is to give an honest review. The good, bad and ugly, if you will! Gary was super helpful with getting us scheduled. The closing of our house kept moving around and I feel like I was calling constantly trying to move the day around. He was very patient with the process. The day they were set to arrive, even though they had a long traveling time to get to us, they were there bright, early and prompt! They got to work almost immediately and quickly realized that when I said we had some challenging terrain, I was not kidding. Even they were amazed at what they had gotten themselves into! They marched up and down a mountain side, climbing downed trees (a lot of them) and steep, muddy drop offs. To add salt to the wounds (literally, as one of their guys ended up injured) it was raining the whole time. All three gentleman were friendly and kept a pleasant demeanor despite their unexpected workout. I would even venture to say they were playfully bantering with one another just before leaving. It was obvious that they were not only coworkers, but friends and worked well together. Perhaps their playfulness with one another was a celebration that they had survived! We had tried to get an invisible fence brand fence since it is what we had used in the past. With the layout of our property, the dogs were going to have to wear two collars. Invisible fence didn’t want to run a wire through the terrain, yet Gary’s guys walked it all with their heavy roll of wire! Invisible fence wanted us to wire the front yard and use a GPS collar in the backyard. Who wants their animals to wear two correction collars? Gary ordered us large gauge wire and warned that with falling trees or even animals, we may end up with a break where the wire could not be buried. They wrapped the wire in pvc in order to make it across the stream bed, tacked it to the backside of a downed tree for protection, and really worked hard to prevent issues in the future. Again, I don’t believe they had any idea what they were getting into at our house! He explained how to fix the line and left us extra supplies incase a break happens, to avoid having to make a maintenance call. So far, no breaks! We had two dogs on the property while Gary was here but knew we were going to be getting some puppies. We took 3 collars when he left. We now have 4 dogs on the property. My only concern is that I was having a hard time making a connection with his office in order to order another collar. Since the puppies are still too young for the collars anyhow, I gave up. I will try another day. I have noticed that the corporate site allows collars to be purchased online. Since they are the same price either way, I will probably take that route. Everyone always wants to know the price. 10 years ago we had an invisible fence installed by invisible fence brand at our previous home. It was 1/2 acre of flat yard and we had 2 collars. Dog guard installed our new fence around 10 difficult acres and gave us 3 collars. The Dog guard fence, with all the extra acres, 10 years of inflation, AND with an extra collar, only cost approx $200 more. So far we have not had a single escape, nor do I think either of our animals would try it. The dogs stop for deer, rabbits, or the random person out hiking on the road out front. I look forward to the puppies getting large enough to wear a collar so we can have the same peace of mind with them! Thank you, Dog Guard, Gary, and your poor guys whom had the joys of walking our woods! I hope that we never move again! Moving is a very stressful process! If we ever do, I know which company I am calling to install our new fence!

Had Dog Guard installed, dog ran through the fence a number of times. Contacted Dog Guard and advice was received for adjustment of the garage unit. This procedure didn’t work, however Dog Guard sent crew to inspect installation and settings on the garage unit. Adjustments were made and now the fence works as advertised. We were pleased with the responsiveness of this company. We have a 1/2 acre yard and they were done within 2 hours. I was at work during the install but my husband called me on speaker and they answered all of my questions. We’re in the training phase with our dogs but they are responding so good and are happy to move about their space freely and unchained!

Gary and his team are professional and fast with their installations. We have a Great Pyrenees and a Min Pin mix that are both as stubborn as the day is long, and they have both taken to the Dog Guard underground fence like champs! It keeps our dogs safe in our yard, even when there are exciting things outside of the fence like dog friends and squirrels. Thank you for helping our pups enjoy their time outdoors safely!!

We are so glad we had Dog Guard of Greater Pittsburgh install a out-of-sight electronic dog fence 4/16/2021! Gary helped us decide where to install the fence on or property perimeter, then they went to work. Thirty minutes later the fence was installed, flags were set and there was almost no disruption to our lawn! The team adjusted the power and fitted Nina, our Boston Terrier, and our daughters much larger dog with collars. Then Gary began training Nina to learn the ‘boundaries’ of our property and showed us how to continue the training. He did the same with our daughter and her dog; he emphasized that both dogs were trained about 65%, and that the more we trained our dogs, the quicker they would be 100% trained. Gary explained how the panel they installed worked and placed a ‘do not dig’ sign in our shrub bed, to remind us where an underground line was located. We trained Nina about 4 times/day, and she quickly learned her boundaries. Just 3 days after the fence was installed, Nina has been enjoying her new freedom without a leash! Before the fence was installed, Nina would run to other dogs or people walking on the road if she had the opportunity; now she watches them, but won’t cross the installed line. It is so much fun to play with Nina outside, without a leash!

So grateful to have the peace of mind with our dogs. Dog Guard made sure the dogs understood the concept of the fence before leaving and gave us all the recommendations to make it a successful and happy transition. The fence has super adjustable settings so we can accommodate whatever sizes and kinds of dogs we’ll have over the years. Grateful to be able to play fetch without worry that a passing bunny or bird will cause my dogs to stray from the yard.

I just had them install an out of sight fence today. They showed up 20mins before our appointment went over everything with me. The owner marked out the property with me and then they finished the install and training in about an hour! The customer service was amazing from the first call to make the appointment all the way up to the install and after. One of the biggest sellers for me is they are a local father and son owned business. If you are in the need for an out of sight/electric fence I would highly recommend.

Gary and his crew came out 2 days ago and did an absolutely wonderful job. They are courteous, professional and very easy to talk to. They spent about 30 minutes with my lab Baloo and my French Bulldog Sully training them on the system. It didn't take them long at all to get the whole point of this system and 2 days later they are roaming my property with freedom. I would recommend to anyone looking into a fencing containment system.

It's been two weeks since they installed our invisible fence and so far it's been slow going but going. Price was reasonable, they where able to come out quickly, and where very friendly and professional. We wanted our dog to only be able to be in the back yard and they where able to find a way to close the loop without allowing him to go between the front and back yard by "pinching" the sides of the yard. He can be in the front or in the back but he cannot travel between the too. My dog can be finicky as he is a rescue and I was nervous about the training portion of install but he worked really well with them. My dog is also very easily scared so if your dog is easily scared and you don't want to put the work into training them and making them feel comfortable, don't get an electric fence. My dog was so afraid of the flags that he refused to walk on the leash so I had to pick his front paws up and make him walk the boarder on his hind legs. At first, he was too nervous to play but by continuing to work with him, he has been playing more and learning the boarder a little better. If he gets to close while playing and does get shocked, he needs encouragement to keep playing. He still will not go outside without one of us present, but he has gone from needing to pull him out to following you out. If you have a dog who is very attached to you, like mine, they will take a shock rather then be separated from you if you go outside of the fence. I was in the front yard and he was in the back and he ran through the above mentioned "pinched" portion to the front so he could be with me. Long story short, happy with the fence and would defiantly recommend, just make sure you're willing to put the work in.

I cannot say enough about the Dog Guard product and customer service! I was “on the fence” about getting an electric fence since we live on a main road. However, it would have been very difficult and expensive to install a regular fence due to the shape of our yard. When I first called, I was given an estimate and was told that their team could be out in 3 days to install. The turn around time in and of itself was great. When Gary’s team came out to install, they were finished before I knew it. I was expecting the install to take a lot longer, but that was not the case. At the time of install, my husband was not home. After install and once my husband returned, he realized that it would be more beneficial for the fence to expand beyond where it was placed initially in a particular area of the yard. I told him I wasn’t sure that it was possible. But, to my surprise, when I called Dog Guard back, Gary said he could come back out the following week to take a look at what my husband was wanting to change. Gary did not disappoint. He showed up the following week and met with my husband to discuss the small change. Shortly after, he got to work and made the change in no time. Again, the customer service is amazing! As far as our dog, Gunner, he is a 17 month old chocolate labrador. He has done really well with obeying the boundaries of the fence. In fact, just the other day, my husband walked down to the main road to greet a neighbor and talk with him. I was anxiously waiting to see what Gunner would do. Gunner knew not to cross the line on the driveway and patiently waited until my husband came back up to the house.

Back in May 2020 we decided to get a fence and at first our dogs weren’t responding well to it. So we contacted Gary and his team again for advice on what to do. Gary came out to our house again looked over the equipment and said give it another month and if we weren’t happy with it they would remove it. I can’t get over how great the Dog Guard system has worked for my pups. The installation and training was super quick and efficient even in the summer heat. I really appreciate that we sat down and they explained every little detail about what to expect, maintenance, collars, etc. I have a German Wirehair Pointer who is super energetic and loves fetch as well as a Beagle who is trained to hunt rabbits. Needless to say I was nervous to see if the fence would truly keep the dogs in or would the “break through” either chasing a ball or rabbit. The fence system has absolutely been nothing but fantastic, not once have the dogs broke through the fence, even while chasing out some birds and bunnies. Now with the fence for almost two months the dogs have the best time in the yard while I have the peace of mind that they won’t take a run into the woods. I would absolutely recommend Dog Guard to anyone that has a big yard and wants to give their dogs room to run. Couldn’t be happier.

We had a great experience with Dog Guard. Very professional, super friendly, and an over all great experience. We got the fence installed before our puppy came home and were eager to try it when he got to the size that he needed to be to begin training. We followed the simple instructions give by Dog Guard and our black lab was quickly trained. We love being able to let him outside with out having to chain him up and give him free roam of our yard. Gary and his helper outfitted my yard with a Dog Guard system in less than 1 1/2 hours, he helped me start the training with both of my dogs and even helped me remove a stubborn bush from my yard. The fence is Awesome and the customer service is top notch!! I have a Great Dane and a French Bulldog so if you're wondering what size dog this fence will work with, the answer is ANY SIZE! One day of training and neither of my dogs will go anywhere near the fence line! I tried the collar on myself and it's barely a little tingle, it WON'T hurt your dog! A few months after having my fence installed I decided that I wanted to expand it to give my dogs a little more room.....Gary and his crew came out and extended my fence up and down hills, through some wooded areas, and over some rough terrain, no questions asked! The owner and his partner installed the system in about 1 hour. We were very impressed how they worked with all my dogs to make sure they all understood the boundaries. After much research we decided on Dog Guard of Greater Pittsburgh and the Dog Guard system. We contacted Gary and he was able to give us a great price and schedule us for installation within 5 days. On the day of installation we received a phone call about 30 minutes prior to our scheduled time to advise us that he was caught in traffic and would be about 30 minutes late. We were impressed. The area is about 1.5 acres and installation took about 1 hour and was perfect. The initial training (actually training us on how to train our pooch, Bailey) was well done and left us without any questions or concerns. Bailey has caught on to the dangers of the yellow flags quite easily and will soon be able to enjoy a great romp in the yard without that darn leash. Gary and his team did an excellent job and we strongly recommend them to anyone in need of a safe environment for their furry family members.

When we moved into our home, we were excited for the very large yard. We knew our dogs would enjoy having so much space, but we would need to keep them safe. Before purchasing an in-ground fencing system from Dog Guard, we considered Invisible Fence. Their estimated cost was extremely high. We contacted Gary from Dog Guard, and he was able to provide an estimate over the phone, and his cost was less than half of Invisible Fence! The installation was fast and our dogs got the hang of things almost immediately. It was such a great experience, I don't know why anyone would pay twice as much for the exact same product! I would recommend this company over and over again for anyone wanting to protect their dogs without breaking the bank. Now, to fully appreciate how well this system works, sit back for a story that will surely convince you of this glorious victory. (This is a long one, so please enjoy the colorful imagery.) We have three playful pups in our household. Cheyenne is the senior, a Catahoula with a high prey drive. Even though she is getting grey, she reigns over the yard with a sharp eye and allows no unwelcomed guests into her palace. Jackson is tiny but fierce, an adult Schnoodle with a mighty bark and breath to make his enemy's eyes water. Virginia (Ginny) is a puppy, but this gentle giant towers over her siblings as she takes after the Bernese Mountain Dog side of her Bernedoodle heritage. These three are very good dogs, but they are wild as hell. Inside the house, they will sit, lay down, and stay like Dog-Olympic level professionals. They will obey commands like we shipped them off to boarding school for training. However, the very moment that the door opens and they get outdoors, their wild instincts are unleashed and it's every man for himself. Before Gary installed Dog Guard, the three would immediately rush past the edges of the yard in three different directions. Cheyenne would chase little critters clear out of the yard and disappear somewhere beyond our view. Ginny would eagerly investigate the world around her, flopping and rolling and barking and generally causing a commotion. Jackson would test the limits, running to a neighbor's yard to deliver a fresh, hot creation in his favorite spots: doorsteps. Don't worry. It was usually never the same neighbors' homes. He was inclined to spread the love and christen the doorsteps of ALL of our neighbors. Our new neighbors absolutely LOVED us! Gary and his assistant came just in time to prevent petitions to kick us out of the community. That fence went in and those dogs learned that leaving the yard was just not an option. Gary walked us through introducing each dog to the system, and they were trained individually. They quickly understood that there was now a barrier that they could not cross, and the days of chasing down creatures, playing fun games of I-am-pretending-I-can't-hear-you, and leaving steaming piles of ungodliness all over the neighborhood were over! Success! I could almost hear the cries of joy from the entire community. The three menaces to society would be contained to our yard now! I'm surprised they didn't throw us a parade! Since then, we have had absolutely ZERO instances of escape. Our dogs still bound outside like they are about to take on the enemies of their fathers, but now they just play or roll around in gifts that the deer leave behind. I can let them roam around the yard out of sight, too, because I know they will be safe, and that our lovely neighbors won't be bothered by them. I had this fence installed for my two Golden Retrievers who liked to run. After the install Gary had each dog come to the flag's, the training was amazing. Golden's are very intelligent, and they will not go near the fence and stay within the boundary. Gary was great, personable and professional. I recommend this company to anyone who loves there dog. He went out of his way for me, and drove an hour and a half to do the install.

Dog Guard is absolutely one of the best purchases I have made for my dog! I looked into Dog Guard for my Shiba Inu because this breed is a "runner" by nature. I needed to keep him safe while giving him a large space for running freedom. I have had the product for 7 months and my family and Shiba are very pleased with the product. In order to write an honest review, I purposely waited to rate the product until I watched how my dog really adjusted to the boundaries. Our dog is safe in our yard and can enjoy running, playing, and being outside. This product has made the biggest difference in his and our lives. As a veterinarian I know how important it is to keep your pets at home in their own yard to prevent injuries. I LOVE my invisible dog fence from Dog Guard. I have two rambunctious large breed dogs and with the dog fence I am confident that they will stay in their own yard. Before installing the dog fence our Dalmatian ran out the garage door as we were moving into our new home. Luckily he ran into the garage of a neighbor down the road and we were able to get him back home without incident, not all dogs are that lucky. He again ran out of the garage door yesterday when I came home from work. This time he turned around as soon as he heard the beep of his collar. I have peace of mind knowing that my dogs not going to be hit by a car or get into a dog fight since they are confined to their own property. The fence is safe, reliable, and easy to use. Training was quick and pain-free. Once trained the system gives the dogs a warning beep if they get too close- as soon as they hear the beep they stop or turn around. First off, I would like to say that i have been wanting and NEEDING to consider a correction fence for quite some time, but after calling invisible fence and being quoted over 5000.00 I was a bit deterred.. I found dog guard just randomly googling other options on the web. So I took a chance and called for a quote. And I'm SO GLAD I DID. Heidi called me back within one hour, helped me figure out the financing part, I was quoted only 2000.00 TOTAL FOR 3 DOGS and Gary and Christian were at my home 2 days later. My yard proved to be a tricky affair...hills, rocks..hidden poison ivy and crazy boundary lines. However, Gary and Christian were able to provide me with a fantastic experience within a few hours. Friendly, honest and quite the characters, it was truly a great experience. When the initial training occurred, they had me bring my dogs out one by one and on the first correction with each dog, it was as if magic took over the yard. I have 3 pit bulls, one being a running terror weighing well over 90 lbs refused to even go near the second flag after the initial training moment. They literally layed by my feet waiting for my command. My 6 month old puppy as well which is unheard of... I have never been so humbled by a regular guy who was personable and friendly and just all around a nice guy.. who knew his stuff and was happy to explain things thoroughly. Since they have gone...my hellion runners have tested the boundaries only a small amount of times and they are listening to my commands like new dogs. I no longer have to worry about the judgment of pitbulls by fellow people down the street as my dogs are SAFE ON MY PROPERTY ONLY!! I am in awe. I am so grateful to be able to sit on my porch with my 3 dogs and have people and other dogs walk by and not have to worry. It was truly a blessing that I came across DOG GUARD and didnt have to spend the 5 grand PLUS invisible fence tried to charge me. I walked away with a deal..a piece of mind..happy dogs and Gary stopping back for many steaks and hamburgers at our next cookout!!!! Haha! I called Dog Guard for a quote on September 5 and on the 7th I got my fence installed. The day after it was installed we had 5 days of torrential rains so Zoey (6 years) and Bella (5 months) basically only had the training from Gary. After the rains stopped, we took them around to the flags to reinforce what Gary had taught them and they "remembered". It was amazing. Just yesterday Zoey ran and barked at another neighborhood dog, but DID NOT go "through" the fence. It's even sort of funny when Bella gets close to the "fence", sometimes she just sits in that awkward puppy way they do things. It's good to know, living on a busy road, that my furbabies are safe. I <3 the freedom of letting them out and not getting tangled in their leashes and it's to much run watching them run and play.

When Gary came and installed the in ground fence only one of my dogs was old enough for the fence, because I have a puppy. I still thought this was the best purchase my husband and I have ever made. Not having to worry about where our little girl is every minute she is outside is such a stress reliever. But now that the puppy is old enough to wear his collar it is an even better investment (if that can even be) since he is our little explorer. Gary has been so patient with me because I’ve had a lot of questions do to having this puppy who was way too young when Gary first came. He was also very professional during the installation. The fence was in the ground in no time and my oldest dog was trained in less than 10 minutes! Again, the best investment ever.

We had our fence installed in August and it has been wonderful. We have 2 dogs, a pit bull and a medium size mixed breed. It keeps them both in the yard even when the neighbors are walking their dogs or their favorite mail lady comes over to see them. Gary and his father were great to deal with and even helped my husband pull out a large weed before they left. We love our new underground fence! We have two active dogs and they learned their boundary really quick. They love being able to roam the property without being tethered up on a long lead! Despite a torrential rain, Gary and his assistant were able to install the fencing and controls in a little less than two hours. The area was approximately two acres and was competed at a reasonable price. My Border Collie puppy learned almost immediately and we have had no problem over the four months of use. I would recommend Dog Guard. I have a 5 month old male boxer puppy. He has so much energy he needed to run . I have one acre and had half of the acre ,invisible fence. The team installed the fence during a rain down pour. Dog guard could have reschedule, but due to my active puppy and my urgent, they installed the fence, even with both gentlemen getting socked. We had our 4 acres fenced last week to keep the chocolate labs from wandering. Gary and crew came over and walked the property with us to make sure we gave the pups max running room. He was able to follow the property line even through heavy, thick weeds and brush. We did a test run after, which I tested on myself first! It felt like one of those hand buzzers. After that I was comfortable to put it on my pups. The test run went great and we no longer loose our wanderers. Gary also took time to show us how the control box works and how to adjust strength and radius if needed. We are very please with his work. Thanks Gary!

Highly recommend. Fast, clean and extraordinarily professional. Spouse was giving me an earful about us not having a system installed after I promised her last summer that I would once things slowed down at work. Once I realized that I wouldn't be able to do this myself I looked online but the prices that I saw were ludicrous so I kept putting it off. As much as I hate paying someone to do something this simple, I didn't have the time to install the fence on my own and I was tired of listening to the complaining about not having a fence. Luckily, I was able to find these guys. Gary at Dog Guard was able to perform a challenging installation on our sloped property that has many irregular boundaries to negotiate (as well as my wife's delicate flora that I absolutely would have 'accidentally' ruined during a DIY). They called the morning of the install to verify our appointment, showed up ten minutes early, listened to how I wanted it done, explained everything that they needed and then got to work. In a perfect world I would have installed this underground fence myself and saved a big bunch of money--in that same perfect world I'd also be married to nymphomaniac super-model that loves to ride motorcycles and is mute, but yet I digress. If you've read this far into the review, then you should go ahead and at least call Gary for a quote; he was 33% cheaper than Invisible Fence. Guard Dog was an excellent compromise between a cost-effective DIY installation and the super freakin' ridiculous prices of the other vendors online. Thank you, Guard Dog!

Gary was able to install the fence around our 2.5 acre lot in under two hours! He and his staff were very patient in helping me train each dog. If you are considering an electric fence for your pet, you MUST call Gary! We called on a Thursday and had it installed by the next Tuesday...our dog Fitz was trained by Wednesday and it has been life changing. Best customer service around, can't beat the price and quality! Thanks Gary!!!

We had our fence installed in August and it has been wonderful. We have 2 dogs, a pit bull and a medium size mixed breed. It keeps them both in the yard even when the neighbors are walking their dogs or their favorite mail lady comes over to see them. Gary and his father were great to deal with and even helped my husband pull out a large weed before they left. I’m glad I decided to pay the extra for this system instead of a self install box one from the store.

I can’t thank Gary and his Dad enough....from the start they were prompt and courteous, took the time to get our zosha trained on the fencing system even though it was raining. She got the hang of the system in just a few days and our lives are so much easier since we are not worried about her going out on the road. Thank you both again

We certainly chose the right company to install our invisible fence! Beginning with a phone call on a Saturday in which Gary answered all our questions and addressed our concerns, the fence was installed the following Monday. The Agates, father and son, did a great job. They are knowledgeable, professional, and extremely helpful. We were quite apprehensive about purchasing the underground fence for our Rottweiler pup, but they put our minds at ease, and assured us he would love it❤️. Don’t look any further! Gary is the BEST!!! I did a lot of research and got several quotes for a hidden fence for my beloved fur-babies. I chose Gary (Dog Guard) because from our first conversation, I immediately felt the safety of my dogs and keeping them inside the perimeter of my yard was his top priority. Due to the construction of our new home and due to weather, I had to reschedule multiple times. Gary was kind, accommodating, thorough and very flexible with his schedule. The installation of my fence was fast and Gary was even able to install it up a steep hill in my backyard which I thought was going to be impossible. I have a very energetic Goldendoodle and a very stubborn Beagle/Lab mix and I wasn’t sure how they would do with a hidden fence. Gary trained both my dogs very quickly and before he left he made sure I knew exactly what I needed to do to continue their training. We have not had our fence long, but we are so excited at how much easier our lives will be in the near future. Our oldest dog was consistently wandering out onto the street and we recently rescued a dog that had been caged her whole life. Needless to say the rescue wants to run like crazy. We are still in the training phase now, but very happy with Gary Agate and Dog Guard. Looking forward to a lifetime of freedom for our pets and peace of mind for us!

I can't say enough great things about Gary and his father. From the beginning of the installation process to the end Gary assured me what I was asking for could be done and it was!! Did I mention they had to install 15 acres? Yes, they installed 15 acres!! I am the mother to 4 Rottweilers and their safety means everything to me. Gary and his father got in here and had it all completed and set up within a couple hours. I lost both of my labs on a Tuesday night for almost 6 hours. Thank God we got them back safely. Called Gary Wednesday morning and he was here at 9am Friday to install our fence. No more nights worrying about my boys! You guys are awesome.

I can't begin to say how great our new dog fence is! I was going crazy trying to put two dogs on separate chains in our yard. Gary and his team put the fence in quickly and professionally. We had Gary out to install our fence in May. Our dog is an extremely energetic 1yr. old. We were very fearful of him taking off as we live on a very busy road. Our Dog Guard fence has given us peace of mind and helped our dog learn his boundries. He has so much more freedom to roam our property he loves it! I highly recommend Dog Guard!

We had an existing electronic fence. Gary came out and ran a new wire for us. They were able to get us into the schedule and did a great job burying the wire given our tricky terrain. Where he was unable to bury the wire, he marked the area and let us know that this could be a weak point in the fence. When our system breaks, we will hire them to put in a Dog Guard System.

We had our underground dog fence installed by Big Gary and Little Gary today of Dog Guard of Greater Pittsburgh. This father and son team did an amazing job installing the fence in a rather wet yard. What little mess they made they promptly cleaned up. In addition they showed us the 'ins and outs' of training or Vizsla puppy Gunnar with the collar! They were very professional and on time, we highly recommend them!
